What Did That Say?

Have you ever read something that made you take a double take? Have you ever thought about the power behind signs, stickers and the like? We often use these as our mode of showing support for something. If you come into my office, you will see a Terrible Towel hanging up on the wall. For those of you that have no idea what that is, it means I am a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Some people like to put signs in their yards to show their support for a certain politician. The other day my daughter had her first dance class, and as part of the paperwork, we got a sticker of the dance studio to put on our car.

So here is my point: We want people to know our favorite sports team, our favorite politician and even where our child takes dance because of our pride for these things. We want people to know if we are Republican or a Democrat and that our child is an honor student and etc.

In ancient times, an army would march out to battle with a banner in front of them - a long pole with an emblem that would clearly announce to their enemy just who they were fighting for. After the battle between the Israelites and Amelekites, Moses declared the Lord Himself was their banner (Exodus 17:8-15).

How many people know the Lord is your Banner?

May the Lord bless you and keep you.
